Can’t decide where to go for lunch? We’ve got you covered with this nifty list of our favourite bites and more in Singapore Science Park. It might be the start of a new year, but the perennial question remains: where should we go for lunch today?
Asian Twist by 365 Food
If you’ve been an SSP tenant for a while now, you’d probably be familiar with the crowd favourite 365 Food located at Teletech Park, that serves up healthier yet equally delicious renditions of all of our local favourites, from the classic chicken rice to the hearty black vinegar pork trotter stew.
Well, venture up to Ascent, and you’ll discover 365 Food’s snazzier cousin, Asian Twist. Here, you’ll find all of 365 Food’s bestsellers, as well as fancier options like a whole braised bone-in lamb shank, a deep sea fish sticky collagen soup, as well as cocktails, draft beer, and more.
So whether you’re looking to have a quick, simple lunch or are in search of a casual place to host a lunch meeting, Asian Twist is your best bet for a satisfying meal.
Address: 2 Science Park Dr, Ascent, #01-26. Open Monday to Saturday, 11AM-9PM.
Deja Moo, Asian Twist’s oxtail stew, is a real labour of love, with each portion braised in wine and their signature homemade stock for 96 hours.
Diamond Kitchen
There are days when we want nothing more than a sandwich for lunch, and then there are days when we just want to treat ourselves to some good old Chinese food. When the latter cravings hit, head to Diamond Kitchen at The Oasis.
Best known for their seafood dishes like the superior stock clam bee hoon and the sauna prawns, Diamond Kitchen also serves up humbler fare like fried rice, noodles, and the zichar staple, sweet and sour pork over rice, all made with quality ingredients and a whole lot of wok hei.
Address: 87 Science Park Dr, The Oasis, #01-01. Open daily, 11AM-230PM, 530PM-1030PM.
Named for the way this dish is cooked, Diamond Kitchen’s sauna prawns are made in a mini sauna of sorts. Here, live tiger prawns are laid on hot stones in a bamboo basket before a herbal broth is poured over them and the whole dish covered to steam before being served.
Freshpod
If your new year’s resolution is to eat a little cleaner and live a little healthier, you might want to check out Freshpod’s convenient salad bowl machine located at the Ascent lobby.
At Freshpod, every bowl is fully customisable and made-to-order. What’s more, you can even order your bowls in advance, set a time to pick them up, and the machine will still make them fresh for you.
If you’re building your own bowl, pick from their selection of proteins like gochujang prawns, torched chicken, and cajun salmon, as well as heaps of other toppings like garlic potatoes, tamago, and soy roasted tofu. Vegetarian proteins like spiced tempeh are available too. Plus, they’ve also got a variety of dressings to choose from, from those that pack a punch like avocado wasabi yogurt to refreshing ones like pomegranate lime. Yum!
Address: 2 Science Park Dr, Bridge+ Ascent, #01-08. Available Monday to Friday, 10AM-2PM.
Whether you’re picking from one of Freshpod’s signature bowls or building your own salad, you’re guaranteed nothing but the freshest ingredients, prepped- and assembled-to-order.
Salted Caramel
This ice cream joint might be the go-to for desserts and pastries at SSP, but did you know that Salted Caramel at The Oasis also serves up handmade-to-order pizzas? This means you can get a full three-course meal here, with your choice of croissant as an appetiser, a pizza piping hot from the oven as a main, and a scoop of ice cream over a crispy, warm waffle for dessert. An indulgent and delicious lunch for sure!
Address: 87 Science Park Dr, #01-02, The Oasis. Open Monday to Friday, 10AM-5PM.
Hawkerlab
When all else fails, the food court is your best bet for a quick and easy lunch, and Hawkerlab at Citadines Science Park Singapore is the new kid on the block. Here, you’ll not only find staples like chicken rice and soupy noodles, but also a diverse range of cuisines from Vietnamese to Indian, Chinese to Western, all at wallet-friendly prices to boot. Nothing fills you up more than a hearty serving of biryani and a side of naan and butter chicken, especially from Namaste Cafe.
AHTTI Korean Restaurant
If you ask us, we’d say Korean food is best enjoyed in good company, especially so at AHTTI Korean Restaurant, where they serve up eight different flavours of Korean fried chicken, among other delicious mains and sides.
Of course, they’ve also got lunch sets for solo diners, but they’re able to cater to groups of two to three or more with their larger stews. This joint is also perfect for celebratory meals, with some sets including a beer tower or jug of soju. So the next time you’re in need of a place to celebrate a colleague’s birthday, consider heading down to AHTTI.
